The Kelvington Medical Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to join a primary health care group practice. The clinic is located in the new Integrated Health Care Facility that opened its doors in June 2016. This position will provide clinical services in Kelvington and surrounding areas which currently includes Rose Valley and Yellow Quill and 24 hour Emergency room and on-call coverage in Kelvington.
Job Duties: Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, prescribe and administer medications and treatments, provide pre-natal and post-natal care, advise patients on health care, report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities, communicate health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention to patients, Perform patient advocacy role, provide counseling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, provide emergency care, participate on institutional committees.
Kelvington is a progressive community located in the Parkland of East Central Saskatchewan; near Round Lake, Fishing Lake Regional Park and Greenwater Lake Provincial Park. It is situated in the heart of some of the finest hunting, fishing and snowmobiling in the province. There is a provincial park (Greenwater) and a number of lakes in close proximity to the community. Camping, bird watching, fishing and hunting are all popular in the area.

Qualifications:
This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.
The candidate must hold certification or be eligible for certification from the
College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Successful applicants must be eligible for a provisional or regular license to practice in Saskatchewan with the
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) and maintain membership with the
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
