Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Department Facility Chief (ZCDFC), Emergency Medicine, Strathcona Community Hospital (STCH).
This 0.10 FTE position is governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports directly to the Edmonton Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL) for Emergency Medicine and the STCH Facility Medical Director. The successful candidate will assist the CCDL with quality issues as well as assisting the Hospital Medical Director (HMD) with operational matters.
This position provides input into the development of policies and criteria for procedures as they relate to Emergency Medicine as well as reviewing and recommending privileges for physicians working within the Emergency Department. This position is accountable for, but not limited to, the resolution of physician-related and clinical-operational matters; providing clinical leadership, consultation, support and coaching to the STCH Emergency Physicians, medical staff and allied health staff; monitoring clinical practice and medical staff in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules; and advocating for the provision of overall quality, patient safety, and patient care.
This position has an expected start date of May 1, 2026.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
The successful candidate will possess superior interpersonal skills, have demonstrated supervisory experience and be an excellent clinician with the respect of their peers. The successful candidate also will be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
