Position Description:

Program development and coordination


  • Contribute to the development, evolution and coordination of the social pediatrics program within Vitalité Health Network
  • Collaborate with the South East Social Pediatric Centre and community partners
  • Participate in strategic planning, implementation of best practices and continuous improvement of services
  • Harmonize and circulate information between teams and different sites, including satellite sites
  • Play a liaison role between social pediatrics, family medicine and interprofessional teams to ensure optimal integration of services


Clinical practice in social pediatrics


  • Provide social pediatric medical services in Memramcook
  • Assess children in their overall context (family, social and community)
  • Intervene in collaboration with intersectoral partners
  • Contribute to actions promoting the well-being and rights of children
  • Practise with full clinical autonomy in diagnosis, management and treatment in the field of family medicine
  • Adhere to the Network’s by-laws, policies and professional standards


Contribution to general family medicine


  • Maintain an active role in the Department of Family Medicine in the Beauséjour Zone (1B)
  • Participate in the department's clinical, administrative and educational activities
  • Collaborate with family physicians and specialists to ensure continuity, complementarity and availability of medical services, particularly for vulnerable children
  • Contribute to the teaching, mentoring and supervision of clerkship students, residents and learners in family medicine


Accreditation and professional development


  • Obtain and maintain accreditations in social pediatrics recognized in Canada
  • Participate in continuing medical education, including CPR certification

Job Duties:

The family physician offers social pediatric services in the Memramcook community, in collaboration with the South East Social Pediatric Centre. 


They provide integrated care for children and their families, working alongside an interprofessional and intersectoral team, and intervene in living environments to support children and families in vulnerable situations.


The position also involves a support role in the development and coordination of the social pediatric program within the Network, including travel to satellite sites, in accordance with current policies.

Hours of Work:

Full time position of 37.5 hours per week

Remuneration:

Salaried

The candidate will be remunerated on a salaried model.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Degree from a recognized medical school and residency granting a licence in Family medicine.
  • Recognized medical school:
    • Accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (in the United States); OR
    • Listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and identified by a Canada Sponsor Note (in English only)

Experience :

  • One to three years' experience in community-based family medicine (an asset)
  • Participation in an active local team within Vitalité Health Network's ISN.

As soon as possible

Incentives:

A financial incentive may be available, subject to eligibility as determined by the Ministry of Health ($50,000 with a two-year service commitment).

A relocation allowance is available.

This 302-bed hospital provides primary, specialized, and tertiary (more complex) care using cutting-edge technology. It provides services in both official languages. The Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC serves patients from New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia.
