Position Description:
The Department Pediatrics invites applications for a part-time 0.05 FTE position as the Pediatrics Site Lead at the Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) within Alberta Health Services- Calgary Corridor. This position reports to the Section Chief of Community Pediatrics, and, ultimately, to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead, Pediatrics.
The target start date for this position is April 1, 2026.
The general position duties and responsibilities include:
Providing site specific leadership in normal newborn care and liaise with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals involved in pediatric care at RGH
Working in conjunction with the Section Chief of Community Pediatrics, Site Leaders in Neonatology, the Pediatric Site Leaders for the Peter Lougheed, Foothills Medical Centre and South Health Campus respectively and the Corridor Clinical Department Lead of Pediatrics.
Chairing Pediatric Site Meetings as scheduled or when the need arises including preparing agenda and minutes as required; secretarial support to be provided through the Section of Community Pediatrics
Liaising with Section Chief of Community Pediatrics on a regular quarterly basis and/or as determined by need/issues as they arise
Liaising with designated leaders within RGH Administration, Nursing, Neonatology, Nursery, Obstetrics, and Emergency Room with respect to site-based issues pertaining to pediatric care and coverage
Liaising with the Normal Newborn Care Committee (NNCC) and attend meetings as a member or per invitation
Providing call schedule position duties and responsibilities including:
Being responsible for creation and distribution for Pediatric call roster/s for the site
Providing Call schedules directly to each unit and updated as required; familiarity with additional scheduling systems, e.g. ROCA may be beneficial
Determining any goals and objectives in consultation with Pediatricians who provide care at the site and the Corridor Clinical Department Lead of Pediatrics
The successful candidate agrees to:
Promote family-centered care for all patients
Maintain in-hospital, acute care skills and certifications as outlined in the Professional Development Standards of the Section of Community Pediatrics
Participate in professional relationship building with community pediatricians and family practitioners
Maintain high standards of professional behavior and respect for professional colleagues
Adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the Department of Pediatrics and the Section of Community Pediatrics as amended or supplemented from time to time.

Qualifications:
Qualifications include an MD or equivalent and FRCPC in Pediatrics or equivalent. Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation is a requirement of this position.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write, and speak English.
