Vitalité Health Network is a regional health authority providing and managing health care and services in an area covering northern and southeastern New Brunswick. The Network is the only Francophone managed organization of its kind in the country and has nearly 60 points of service providing a range of health care and services to members of the public in the official language of their choice. The Network has approximately 7,700 part-time and full-time employees, 560 physicians, including 259 specialists, and nearly 800 volunteers. Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Family Medicine Department Head and the medical director for the area, the family physician performs non-specialized clinical work delivering general medical care to patients in the assigned zone.
Duties include medical services related to the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and may require working closely with various health professionals.
Hours of Work:
37.5 hours per week.
Remuneration:
Fee for Service
Standard remuneration is Fee-for-Service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare of New Brunswick. On call remuneration is provided. No source deductions can be provided.
Qualifications:
- Degree from a recognized medical school and residency granting a licence in family medicine
- A recognized medical school is a school that meets the following criterium:
- Accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (in the United States);
OR
- Listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools with a note for Canada under the Sponsor Notes tab.
- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick*
- Active membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent liability insurance association*
- Membership in the New Brunswick Medical Society
- Privileges with Vitalité Health Network
- Registration with New Brunswick Medicare
- One (1) to three (3) years' experience in medicine;
- Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant, and equivalent may be considered;
- Ability to remain calm;
- Sense of organization and responsibility;
- Ability to manage time and set priorities;
- Customer service and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to adapt to change;
- Problem-solving skills;
- Initiative, judgment and creativity;

Incentives:
- Moving expenses allowance.

About the Community:
Located in southeastern corner of the province and is largely Acadian and Francophone. Comprised of the Kent County, major towns include Shediac in the south and Richibucto in the north.
